Oh! this little blue Karaja is one of my favorite new finds. Its hard to find Karaja rugs with blue boarders and center fields and this has both! It also has subtle burnt madder root reds outlining the center medallions which looks great with the nice offset of blues and turquoise colors in the edge designs. The detailing on this rug is spectacular and its all encased in such a nice evenly worn design.
¤ History These rugs, also known as the iron rugs of Persia, are praised for their bold designs and extremely durable weave. Karaja rugs often showcase a triple medallion pattern (as seen in this rug) and have a nice symmetry to their overall shape as well.
