Rare and lovely Antique Moroccan Azilal rug with beautiful blue field and colorful design motifs with pastel pinks, blues, and yellows. Works well as an accent rug or below the foot of a bed in a bedroom.
Moroccan like this are handwoven and had dyed. Typically Moroccan rugs use natural faded colors like red (from henneh) yellows (from saffron) and oranges (also from saffron) with greys and whites derived from the natural colors of wool used. Moroccan rugs also have long and thick pile when compared to Persian and Caucasian rugs, allowing for bold designs that are about texture rather than intricate detail.
