Lovely and rare Late 19th Century (c. 1880's) Qashqai allover pattern rug. Beautiful wool on wool foundation with intricate details throughout. Center detailing features many elements seen in Shekarlu Qashqai rugs of the same era.
Serrated diamond medallions anchor each corner, each featuring a tribal floral medallion. There is a small centrally placed medallion surrounded by an interconnected network of birds, trees and flowers that spread out and grow upwards giving the rug a nice directionality to it when viewed from different angles.
CONDITION
Good Condition, Some Imperfections. Overall even wear with some spots worn to foundation. Head ends have been tied and secured. Sides have some edge fraying. No major holes or tears. Has been professionally cleaned and is ready for many more years of love and use.
