¤ History
Arthur Umanoff's work throughout the 1950's-70's was quite extensive and spanned many different genres - From designing clocks for Howard Miller, to iron and wicker bar and stools for Raymour and then his signature spindle and walnut furniture pieces for manufactures like Washington Woodcraft and The Elton Co. Some of his signature design elements involve the use of beautiful high quality walnut as well as tongue and grooved edge construction that can be seen on all of the corners of his walnut pieces. You can see on this magazine holder, the slatted inlay in the walnut where the two independent pieces of wood were fitted together. You can find this on almost all his walnut pieces like the edges of his magazine table.
