Red Blue and Green Antique Shusha Karabagh Rug C.1850's 4′2″ × 6′2″
Striking and rare early Karabagh from 1850's Azerbaijan. Design motifs original from the Shusha region - utilizing bold red geometric motifs interconnected by a network of blue / green hued floral patterns. Early border shares many design similarities the neighboring Kuba region and the Chi Chi rugs of the time period, utilizing a series of angular and repeating oblong floral patterning.
The age of this rug is uniquely shown off through the oxidized blacks and greens, allowing views from different angles where each color has a dimensionality.

Low pile design. Wear consistent with age. No major holes or tears. Edge ties in some areas are loose.
